Collaborative Cultural Leadership

South Coast Arts proudly works in strategic partnership with Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven Councils to cultivate a vibrant regional arts ecology. These valued relationships enable us to deliver meaningful creative initiatives that respond to local needs while contributing to the broader cultural landscape of the South Coast.

A Shared Vision for Regional Creativity

Our collaborative approach with Council partners ensures that arts and cultural development is woven into the fabric of our communities. Together, we create pathways for creative expression, cultural participation and artistic excellence that would not be possible through isolated efforts.

How We Work Together

South Coast Arts provides specialised arts sector expertise and professional services that complement Council initiatives, including:

  • Strategic Cultural Development – Supporting Councils to implement their cultural plans and creative strategies
  • Program Design and Delivery – Collaborating on arts initiatives that engage diverse community groups
  • Professional Networks – Connecting Councils with relevant arts industry contacts and creative practitioners
  • Resource Optimisation – Ensuring efficient use of combined resources to maximise creative outcomes
  • Grant Leverage – Helping to attract additional funding to amplify local cultural investment

Sustainable Funding Model

Our organisation operates through a progressive multi year co-funding arrangement with our Council partners, complemented by multi-year funding from Create NSW. This collaborative funding approach demonstrates a shared commitment to sustainable cultural development across our region and enables long-term planning for meaningful creative outcomes.

Building Cultural Vitality Together

Through these enduring partnerships, we help Councils deliver on their community strategic plans and cultural development objectives while ensuring that South Coast communities benefit from coordinated, professional and impactful creative programming.

We acknowledge with gratitude the ongoing support of our Council partners in making our work possible.
