Taking A Photo
Sightlines Collective

Calling all photographers — young, emerging and retired!

Imagine having a backstage pass to every creative moment on the South Coast…

If you love taking photos and want to sharpen your skills, join the Sightlines Collective — a volunteer-based, knowledge- and experience-sharing group of photographers (18+) capturing the creative beat of our region.

As a Sightlines participant, you’ll:

  • Learn from the best — real mentoring from a pro photographer (the practical, hands-on stuff you only get by being there).
  • Shoot the action — gigs, art shows, festivals, and the unforgettable moments that make this place buzz.
  • Tell the stories — capture the moments that reveal the other side of our region’s creative landscape.
  • Find your people — connect with fellow creatives, swap stories, and spark new ideas.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ages 18 to 118
  • Living in Shellharbour, Kiama or Shoalhaven
  • A NSW licence + registered vehicle
  • Access to a DSLR camera and a love for capturing moments

Every frame you capture helps weave the stories of local musicians, artists, performers and creative projects of all kinds.
You’ll be documenting what makes the South Coast unique — crafting new sightlines around the region’s creativity.

It’s a chance to get, share, and grow real experience with real impact — building your craft while engaging deeply with what makes this region such an incredible place to live, work and play.
